Fact-Checking Policy
Our checks are designed to catch problems, not to certify that every story is perfect.
Before publishing
Figures in data-driven stories are read directly from market feeds and filings rather than typed by hand. Automated checks look for missing sources, near-duplicate stories, sensitive topics and speculative language. Flagged stories wait for human approval.
Sensitive stories
Stories about fraud, regulatory action, legal cases, defaults, arrests or similar high-impact matters always require an editor's approval before publication.
Predictions
We do not publish price targets or claims that a stock will move a certain way, and we do not invent reasons for price movements.
Limits
Automated checks can miss problems, and market data providers can make errors. Always verify critical figures against the original exchange filing or official release before acting on them.
