Bharat Electronics Bags Fresh ₹847 Crore Order
Shares of Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) are expected to remain in focus after the Navratna defence PSU announced fresh orders worth ₹847 crore in a regulatory filing.
The company said the new contracts include the supply of electro-optics systems, security operation centres, seekers, electronic components, spare parts and related services.
The announcement further strengthens BEL's execution pipeline and reinforces its position as one of India's leading defence electronics manufacturers.
Strong Order Momentum Continues
The latest order follows several major contract wins secured over the past few months.
Earlier in July, BEL received ₹572 crore worth of orders covering communication equipment, avionics, encryptors, tank sub-systems, electronic voting machines (EVMs), batteries, components and related services.
Before that, the company had announced another order worth ₹1,081 crore involving communication equipment, radars, CBRN protection systems, seekers, avionics, upgrades and defence services.
The steady flow of new contracts continues to provide healthy long-term business visibility.
BEL Q1 FY27 Financial Performance
Bharat Electronics also reported a healthy financial performance for the quarter ended June 2026.
The company posted a net profit of ₹1,048 crore, representing 8.2% year-on-year growth compared to the corresponding quarter last year.
Revenue from operations increased 25.3% YoY to ₹5,533 crore, supported by strong execution across defence projects.
At the operating level, EBITDA rose around 12% to ₹1,389 crore.
However, EBITDA margin narrowed to 25.1%, compared with 28% in the same quarter last year, reflecting higher operating costs.
Order Book Remains Robust
BEL's execution pipeline continues to remain strong.
As of July 1, 2026, the company reported an order book of ₹72,258 crore, providing strong revenue visibility over the coming years.
The healthy order backlog is expected to support stable business growth as India continues increasing defence spending and domestic manufacturing.
Stock Performance
Despite multiple order wins, BEL shares have witnessed volatility during 2026.
The stock ended July around ₹387, declining approximately 6% during the month.
It has closed in the red in five of the last six months, resulting in a year-to-date decline of around 3%.
However, BEL continues to remain one of the strongest long-term performers among defence PSUs.
Over the last seven years, the stock has delivered returns of approximately 1,275%, while consistently generating positive annual returns during that period.
